Lighthouse Figures

Our little collection of lighthouse figures was originally only going to contain lighthouses, we had actually seen. But then the exceptions started. Well, we are never going back to Texas, so we won't ever see the Matagorda light. The Bishop Rock lighthouse has a special "family connection" and so on....

Santa came early this year (2005). He gave us a set of lighthouses and so we decided that we needed some shelves to display them. Stan got to work and this is the result:

And I bet you want to know about all the lighthouses on those shelves!

So let's start with our newest additions the John Hines - Little Lights - Harbour Lights

We do have a few proper Harbour Lights (LL)

We also have one lighthouse from the Fraser International Lighthouse Collection

Well and then we have figures that are not part of any particular collection, but they are real  Lighthouses

There are some lighthouse figures in our collection which are not of real lighthouses

On the left above is a lighthouse carved from Serpentine stone. This is only found on the Lizard peninsular in England and the local stone masons are jealously guarding their sole right to use this stone.

On the right is another gift from son Ian. This lighthouse is actually a little lamp. You can light a tea light in the top.

The lovely crystal lighthouse above was a gift from granddaughter Kerry and her family

This is a special lighthouse. It was made from a glass brick. If you look closely you can see, it has a wick. You can fill the brick with lamp oil and light it. This was made for us by a friend of daughter Sue's in Tijeras, NM

A special friend gave us this lovely figurine of the Aransass Pass Lighthouse TX  made by Lefton! Thank you Grace ! We LOVE it!
